It will take you to the astonishing nature reserve of Lagoa do Fogo, skirting the south coast of São Miguel, where, atop a promontory, you can behold both sides of the island—it literally drives you to the peaks of natural beauty!
The grandiose view of Lagoa do Fogo, one of the most faithful examples of what the islands were like before human footprint, is the translation of the colossal power of the earthy nature, which created the archipelago.
The jeep will also take you to the lush reserve where Caldeira Velha is located, for a thermal bath in the heart of the forest, and to the refreshing sight of the waterfall at Salto do Cabrito.

Let's go!
- This wonderful tour combines some unusual routes in the highlands and flatlands of São Miguel island.
- We will take you to the amazing nature reserve of Lagoa do Fogo from Ponta Delgada.

Pico da Barrosa
- This adventure begins at our activity center in Ponta Delgada or by taking the transfer to the Fogo volcano.
- We will start at Pico da Barrosa, from where you can see both the South and North coasts of the island. It’s a wonderful viewpoint that we recommend visiting when you’re in São Miguel.
- It offers a stunning view where we can first glimpse the magical Fogo volcano and the lagoon.

Lagoa do Fogo viewpoint
- We will descend to the Lagoa do Fogo viewpoint to admire the blue lagoon, where you can enjoy nature at its best. Lagoa do Fogo is one of the most untouched places in São Miguel.
- The volcanic hot springs are surrounded by lush greenery. Dive in and relax in warm, naturally iron-rich waters.
- Explore the famous hot waterfall and listen to the sounds of nature. It’s a must-visit stop on São Miguel Island. Don’t forget your swimsuit!

Caldeira Velha
- We will head towards Caldeira Velha, a hot waterfall rich in iron. You can take a dip to experience a relaxing bath surrounded by nature.
- Swimming in any of the natural pools at Caldeira Velha will give you the impression that you are in the middle of a tropical forest.

Salto do Cabrito
- After this relaxing moment, we will make a stop at Salto do Cabrito. It’s an incredible waterfall that is about 50 meters high. Then, we will pass through Ribeira Grande and return to Ponta Delgada.
